Abstract

Annealing-assisted vacancy engineering in SnO2 produces bridge oxygen vacancies where Sn atoms (A, B) adjacent to the vacancy undergo end-on followed by side-on N2 adsorption owing to charge contortion and kinetically facilitate the NRR process.
