Abstract

We synthesized 3,2′-O-dimethylcytidine (m³Cm) and determined the dimethylation of cytidines in mammals by mass spectrometry analysis. We discovered m³Cm in small RNA and N4,2′-O-dimethylcytidine (m⁴Cm) in 18S rRNA of mammals.
