Combined experimental and theoretical studies on a phenyl thiadiazole-based novel turn-on fluorescent colorimetric Schiff base chemosensor for the selective and sensitive detection of Al3+

Abstract

A phenyl thiadiazole based receptor (L) has been presented for fluorescent colorimetric detection of Al³⁺ ion with very low detection limit in aqueous medium. The probe L can be applied for logic gate formation, recovery of contaminated water samples and smart-phone based analysis.
