Abstract

Pretreatments with aqueous protic ionic liquid (PIL)–ethanolamine bis(oxalate) ([MEA][(HOA)(H2OA)]), combined with ultrasonic disintegration, were employed in cellulose nanofibril (CNF) production from pulp fibers.
