Abstract

An intumescent flame retardant (DOPO-DAM) containing phosphorus and nitrogen was synthesized via a two-step process and it was incorporated into waterborne polyurethane to serve as a reactive flame retardant for preparing flame-retarded WPU (FR-WPU).
