Ce-MIL-140: expanding the synthesis routes for cerium(iv) metal–organic frameworks

Abstract
A solvothermal synthetic route to Ce(iv)-MOFs using acetonitrile as solvent is reported that avoids the formation of the extremely dominant hexanuclear inorganic building unit (IBU) and paves the way for higher IBU diversity in Ce(iv)-MOFs.
