Abstract

Porous SiC with uniformly sized 12 nm and 22 nm spherical pores was synthesized from nanocomposites of polycarbosilane and xerogels of SiO2NPs as templates. Addition of Ni2+to the composite significantly improved the crystallinity of SiC.
