Abstract
The introduction of a single methyl group on one of the chelate arms of a dipyridyl-NHC ligand has been achieved stereoselectively and the resultant tridentate ligand (S-LMe) coordinated to Rh(i), Ir(i) and Ni(ii) to give single diastereomers.
