Abstract

The hypervalent diorganobismuth(iii) halides of type [RCH2N(CH2C6H4)2]BiX, (R = Ph, Bz, and MeO) show a strong tendency to associate either by Bi⋯X or by Bi⋯π arene secondary interactions.
