Abstract

A carbonate intercalated magnesium aluminum layered double hydroxide (Mg2Al1–CO3 LDH) was synthesized and used as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), possessing a unique mechanism for the storage of Li+ by conversion reaction.
