Abstract
We present a full investigation of ultrafast light-induced events in the membraneous cytochrome bc1 complex by transient absorption spectroscopy. We highlight internal-ligand dissociation and picosecond rebinding from all hemes and novel light-induced signals assigned to Fe–S clusters.
