Abstract

A helically foldable bipyridine-containing poly(phenyleneethynylene) was synthesized by the Sonogashira–Hagihara coupling polymerization of N-(3,5-diethynylbenzoyl)-l-alanine dodecyl ester with 4,4′-dibromo-2,2′-bipyridine.
