Abstract

A catalytic system consisting of a homoleptic lanthanum aryloxide with B(C₆F₅)₃ was found to be highly efficient in the hydrosilylative reduction of CO₂ under mild conditions, selectively affording CH₄ or bis(silyl)acetal.
