Abstract
A non-noble bimetallic catalyst Cu–Fe (1 : 2) was magnetically recoverable, highly selective and efficient for 5-(hydroxymethyl) furfural (5-HMF) hydrogenation to 2,5-dimethyl furan (DMF).
