Abstract

Despite being a commonly found and edible species of fungus, Armillaria mellea has a wide range of traits and applications that come as a surprise. The literature shows that there has been much research on species description, including morphology, habitat, life cycle, and components of the fungus body. It has emerged that the world of fungi offers not only culinary delights or purely scientific results but also treatment solutions, as it has been discovered that the components of A. Mellea have medicinal and biological uses that can be applied to a variety of fields or diseases with positive results. This kind of bioremediation uses A. mellea, a fungus from the Basidiomycota family, to address issues with environmental contamination. This topic has a lot of potential to be used globally in the ecology field and to be the primary tool for environmental conservation, even though it has not been thoroughly investigated.
