Abstract

The nearest neighbor biquadratic exchange interaction B1 is equivalent to half of J3 of the Heisenberg linear interaction, and the positive B1 partially counteracts the effect of negative J3 in the spin spiral, making monolayer NiCl2 ferromagnetic.
