Abstract

Mixed effects of reduction of oxygen excess and increasing valence of Ni were found as charge compensation mechanisms for Sr substituted La_2−xSr_xNiO_4+δ (x = 0.2 to 0.8). The highest oxygen diffusivity was found for x = 0.2, with an unusual increase when x = 0.8.
