Abstract

The structural properties of 2,4-thiazolidinediones – their hydrogen-bonding donor and acceptor regions – make them adaptable scaffolds. The synthesis of several bioactive 2,4-thiazolidinedione derivatives is the subject of this chapter. The presentation is based on the differences in the linkers of 2,4-thiazolidinediones at positions three and five. This chapter describes the studies on the assessments of numerous biological functions, such as antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities, conducted on the corresponding products by different academics or research organizations.
