Selective formation of Pt12L24 nanospheres by ligand design

Abstract
We present a systematic study on the formation of Pt12L24 self-assemblies. By introducing steric bulk or charged moieties at the inside of the nanosphere Pt12L24 self-assemblies form in excellent selectivity as kinetically trapped intermediates are destabilized.
