Abstract

A coumarin based turn-on sensor for the selective detection of Hg(ii) through oxidation of diselenide. The sensing mechanism supported with single crystal XRD of monoselenide. Sensitivity of the probe for the detection of Hg(ii) confirmed with imaging in MCF-7 cells.
