Intercalation/deintercalation of solvated Mg2+ into/from graphite interlayers

Abstract
We reconsider the potential of graphite as a negative electrode material for Mg-ion batteries. The formation of a ternary graphite intercalation compound (GIC) with a stage structure resulted in a reversible capacity of approximately 200 mA h g−1.
