One-step synthesis of a pH switched pyrene-based fluorescent probe for ratiometric detection of HS in real water samples

Abstract

The probe Pyr was synthesized in a single step through condensation of 1-pyrenecarboxyaldehyde with 4-methylpyridine. Under acidic condition (pH 2.0) probe undergoes selective reversible response with HSthan other sulfur species and the probe utilized to trace HSin real water sample.
