Abstract

The Rh-ArcPhos catalyst has enabled the asymmetric hydrogenation of cyclic tetrasubstituted-olefinic dehydroamino acid derivatives, affording α-acylamino-β-alkyl tetrahydropyranones with two contiguous chiral centers in up to 96% ees and 1000 TONs.
