Abstract

Hafnium triflate catalyzes C–O breaking and C–C coupling of lignin-derived benzyl phenyl ether into C12–C22 phenolic compounds for phenol-formaldehyde resins, liquid organic hydrogen carriers, and diesel/jet fuels.
