Abstract

The molecular structures of the new copper phosphinimide complexes [Cu{μ-NPR₃}]₄(1, R = NMe₂and2, R = Ph) reveal the presence of planar eight-membered {Cu₄N₄} rings, which have been shown by DFT calculation to be due to steric factors rather than electronics.
