Abstract

The nature, absolute strength, and order of binding among 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium cations, [Cnmim]+ for n = 2–8, to the hexafluorophosphate anion [PF6]− are definitively established via synergistic competitive TCID and computational approaches.
