Abstract

We describe the selective hydrogenation of furfural (FAL) into tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol (THFA) under mild conditions (30 °C) in aqueous media using a Rh-loaded carbon (Rh/C) catalyst in a one-pot fashion.
