Abstract

Reaction of RPyI, CuI, and CuCN produces anionic iodocyanocuprate(i) chains, (RPy)₂[Cu₂I₃CN] which exhibit charge transfer that is influenced by the hydrogen bonding between the cation and the triiodide groups.
