Abstract

An inexpensive MnCl2–picolinic acid catalyst with N-heterocyclic additives enables epoxidation of unactivated olefins, selective C–H oxidation of simple alkanes to ketones, and O–H oxidation of alcohols with hydrogen peroxide at ambient conditions.
