Abstract
On coordination, L1 may form a symmetrical array of hydrogen bond donors, suitable for the binding of anions. Mn(ii) and Cd(ii), form symmetrical monocapped octahedral complexes. However Zn(ii) and Ni(ii) favours asymmetric trigonal bipyramidal and octahedral structures respectively.
