Abstract

Platinum hollow nanospheres, produced using polyelectrolyte-grafted SiO₂ spheres as a sacrificial template through an appropriate reduction of preadsorbed PtCl₆²⁻ ions, exhibit markedly enhanced electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation toward DMFC applications.
