Abstract
Efficiently upconverting, spherical ZnAl2O4 nanoparticles (NPs), doped with erbium and ytterbium, were synthesized by a combustion aerosol method (CAM) and transported to cytosol of carcinoma cell line (HeLa) for the first time.
