Abstract
The heteronuclear complex [Pb{HB(pz)3}Au(C6Cl5)2] is a blue emitter in the solid state and displays an unprecedented and unsupported Au(i)⋯Pb(ii) contact.Ab initiocalculations show a very strong metallophilic interaction that is greatly influenced by relativistic effects.
