Abstract
(2,3-Dihydrobenzo[b][1,4]oxathiin-3-yl)methanols are synthesized from aryloxymethylthiiranes via NBS-mediated aromatic electrophilic substitution, DMSO nucleophilic ring-opening, and water displacement.
