Abstract
Disability management is a new field of knowledge in rehabilitation. Consequently research efforts in this area are also quite recent. This article reviews current disability management research, focusing on research in progress funded by the National Institute of Handicapped Research and a few corporate foundations. The authors discuss several implications of the current research and recommended areas for future study. Strategies for dissemination and utilization are presented as well as a discussion of the relevance of the research to selected policy concerns.
