Abstract
Our first Leader Interview is with Peter Buerhaus, RN, PhD, FAAN, an authority on nursing supply and demand who at the time was a nurse-economist at Harvard Nursing Research Institute, Boston. He is now associate dean of research at Vanderbilt University, Nashville. Among many others, he authored the article “Is Another Shortage Looming?” in a 1998 issue of Nursing Outlook (vol. 46, no. 3), which he discusses below.
