cis-Dichlorido(6,11-dihydrodibenzo[b,f][1,4]dithiocine-κ2S,S′)palladium(II)

Abstract

In the title compound, [PdCl2(C14H12S2)], the PdIIatom features a square-planar coordination to the two S atoms of the dithiocine ligand and two Cl−ions. The dithiocine ligand forms a pair of metallacycle rings, with seven (C4S2Pd) and five (C2S2Pd) members, respectively. The benzylic part of the molecule is oriented away from the Pd atom, as a consequence of the boat conformation adopted by the chelating ligand. The geometry for both S-donor atoms is consistent withsp3hybridization.
