In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C19H14N2OS, two geometrically different molecules,AandB, are present. InA, the dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and pendant phenyl and pyridine groups are 56.79 (14) and 8.3 (2)°, respectively. The equivalent data for moleculeBare 54.08 (12) and 16.7 (2)°, respectively. An intramolecular N—H...N hydrogen bond closes anS(5) ring in each molecule and the S and O atoms have anantidisposition. In the crystal, molecules are linked by a single C—H...O interaction intoA+Bpairs.
