Abstract
The crystal structure of the title compound, {(C8H12N)[HgCl3]}
n
, exhibits alternating organic and inorganic layers, which interact via N—H...Cl hydrogen bonding. In the inorganic layer, an infinite one-dimensional anion chain is formed by [HgCl3]− subunits.
