Abstract
The structure of 2C16H36N+·C8H4O4
2−·C34H30N8O4, comprises tapes of encapsulated hydrogen-bonded isophthalate anions which are arranged into parallel sheets interleaved with tetrabutylammonium layers; each of the two independent neutral molecules is disposed about a centre of inversion.
