Abstract
1,1,1,2,2-Pentaiododiphosphanium tetraiodogallate(III), (P2I5)[GaI4], crystallizes in the orthorhombic space groupPbca. The structure is isotypic with (P2I5)[AlI4]. Short I...I interatomic distances indicate weak interactions between cations and anions.
