Abstract
The title compound, C15H11BrO2S, was prepared by oxidation of 5-bromo-3-methylsulfanyl-2-phenyl-1-benzofuran using 3-chloroperbenzoic acid. The crystal structure is stabilized by aromatic π–π stacking and CH2—H...π interactions.
