Life Sci. 15, 471–479 (1974). This was the first report to describe the discovery, and give a brief characterization, of fluoxetine (LY110140) as a selective inhibitor of 5-HT uptake. The authors considered the possibility that fluoxetine would be an antidepressant drug and a useful research tool.
