Abstract
Swirling flows are widely used in engineering. Various types of separators, burners, dryers, coolers, etc. work due to flow swirling. To study swirling flows, methods of experi- mental modeling and computational hydrodynamics are used. The most productive approach to the description of swirling flows can be realized when it becomes possible to analytically describe the characteristics of the flow. In the present work, models of helical vortices are generalized to the case of a composition of a columnar vortex and a pair of coaxial helical vortices, which makes it possible to describe the recently obtained experimental data.
