Abstract
Based on data gathered from aged welfare recipients, the study deals with expressed interest in public housing for the aged. The findings reveal that current living arrangement and social factors related strongly to age dense housing interest whereas the desire for reduced rent or improved physical conditions of housing did not. Lonely, bored renters who wished to live in a socially homogeneous environment were the most interested in age segregated housing. The results suggest that expressed housing interest can be used as a predictor of renters who eventually apply for age specific housing.
