Abstract
The combination of the World Wide Web and instructional software tools has the potential to create an educational environment that supports the knowledge building approach to learning. This article develops a blueprint for teaching a college-level class using the World Wide Web and a prototype hypermedia software package. The details of the approach are described and its potential and impact are discussed. While the discussion is specific to a particular software tool, the general method is applicable to any tool with the same basic capabilities.
