Abstract
The experiments described in the previous paper refer to coagulating systems in which the particles are approximately spherical in form, and in which Brownian movement is mainly the cause of collision. It is evident that a simple theoretical treatment is applicable to this type only. Before ammonium chloride and resin were selected for producing tire smokes suitable for our purpose, a large amount of preliminary work was carried out on various systems in order to determine the form and structure of the particles, and also to discover whether electrification was a factor influencing the coagulation process to any marked extent. This work brought to light interesting facts which are of some consequence when attempting a general survey of aerial disperse systems.
