Abstract

Among all the Operations of Surgery, perhaps there is not one, of equal Importance, less oblig'd to Improvements, that that of the Paracentesis ; it being, at this time, notwithstanding the frequent Use thereof, in the same State of Imperfection as when first introduced among us; a mere palliative Remedy, or a Relief for Symptoms.
