Abstract
Oliver Graham Sutton, the distinguished applied mathematician and science administrator, notable particularly for his fundamental theoretical work on atmospheric diffusion and boundary layer turbulence and for his direction of the Meteorological Office from 1953 to 1965, was born on 4 February 1903 in the village of Cwmcarn, Monmouthshire, and died in his home at Sketty Green, near Swansea, on 26 May 1977.
