Abstract
The launch of
Nimbus
7 in 1978 led to the acquisition of global data sets for a number of stratospheric constituents: O
3
, HNO
3
, NO
2
, H
2
O, CH
4
and N
2
O. These data have been used extensively in studies of atmospheric chemistry and transport. Some examples of these studies are presented in this paper.
